Product Overview 1. Provides two antenna interfaces to accommodate various needs. This product ships with an antenna and an adapter cable, allowing for compatibility with both interfaces. 2. The SIM900 can be connected to any two Arduino pins from D0 to D7 via jumper settings, not just the hardware UART pins D0 to D1. 3. Debug toggle switch allows you to connect the SIM900's debug port to the Arduino or to a PC via the Arduino's ATmega8U2/FT232 for debugging. 4. Audio and microphone pinouts. 5. SIM900's multiple 10-pin pinouts can be connected using headers and Dupont wires if necessary. For specific pinout information, refer to the schematic and datasheet. 6. Three status indicators and three buttons. The power-on button can be controlled via Arduino pins to power on the SIM900 via software. 7. 3.3V and 5V auto-level compatibility allows for adaptive operation on 3.3V or 5V control boards, including support for 3.3V development boards such as Leaf Maple and Chipkit. |
Instructions · For computer debugging, use USB-TTL. This module's power supply is 5V-26V. A 5V power supply must be at least 2A; a 9V power supply is recommended. When plugged into the Arduino board, the power supply must be able to provide 2A. This is because the GPRS Shield requires a maximum startup current and peak operating current of 2A, but USB cannot provide this much current, so an external power supply is required. The other power supply pin header provides a 3.7-4.5V power supply suitable for lithium batteries. The serial port is compatible with Arduino microcontrollers. The TTL serial port is compatible with 3.3V and 5V microcontrollers. · Ensure your SIM card is not locked. · The GPRS Shield's communication baud rate is preferably 19200bps 8-N-1 (the GPRS Shield automatically pairs with the baud rate by default). |
